Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Welcome to Coastal Cannabis – Your Source for Premium THCA Flower & Wax Concentrates
What is THCA?
THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a non-psychoactive compound found in raw cannabis. It’s the precursor to THC – the compound responsible for the “high” in marijuana. On its own, THCA won’t get you high. But when you heat it (through smoking, vaping, or dabbing), it converts into Delta-9 THC, producing the psychoactive effects many users are looking for.

How does THCA work?
THCA interacts with the body differently than THC until it's heated. Once heated, it undergoes a process called decarboxylation, turning into Delta-9 THC. This means when you smoke or dab THCA flower or wax, you’re actually consuming THC – but because it starts as THCA, it remains federally legal under certain guidelines.
Will THCA get me high?
Yes – if heated. On its own, THCA is non-psychoactive. But once it’s smoked, vaporized, or dabbed, it turns into Delta-9 THC, delivering the familiar euphoric and relaxing effects of traditional cannabis.
Will THCA show up on a drug test?
Yes. Because THCA becomes THC once heated, consuming it can cause you to test positive for cannabis on a drug screening. If you're subject to drug testing, we recommend avoiding THCA products.
What’s the difference between THCA and Delta-9 THC?THCA is the raw, unheated version – non-psychoactive until decarboxylated.Delta-9 THC is the active, psychoactive compound created when THCA is heated.Legally, THCA is compliant in raw form, while Delta-9 THC is restricted above 0.3% by dry weight.

Is THCA Legal?
Yes – THCA is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, as long as:
It is
derived from hemp
(not marijuana)The product contains
less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC
by dry weight
Because THCA only becomes THC when heated, and the raw product remains below the 0.3% threshold, it is considered compliant. However, state laws vary, and some states have restrictions or bans on THCA products.
